World cup will be held in West Indies in March-April.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the Indian ODI team for the first two matches against West Indies at home, as well as the 30-man provisional squad for the World Cup in the West Indies.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly was named for first two Windies ODIs following his performances for the Test side on the tour to South Africa. Virender Sehwag’s name , however, was struck off the team sheet for the two games. He though remained in the 30-man probables list.

Dashing cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Wednesday promised a better performance in the upcoming One-day series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka, terming them as the most important games in build up to the World Cup.

"I promise a better performance with both the bat and the glove," Dhoni said.

"The two One-day series are the most important, and I am looking forward for a better performance," Dhoni said.

The stylish wicketkeeper-batsman, who had a roller-coaster performance in the recently concluded South African tour where India lost both versions of the game, said he was hopeful of the continuation of support by cricket fans to the Indian team.
